Events 2013: Mammoth Trip
|
Bigs manning the boat on the trek back to the marina.
Zoe wondering when we're going to get back so we can eat the fish she caught.
The next day, we rented a boat and hit Convict Lake.
The Eastern Sierra's are really spectacular looking.
When we arrived we took the gondola up to the top.
We also checked out the main village and this bear statue.
The drive up to Mammoth wasn't bad at all with lots of cool scenery to see.
Dad grabbed this awesome sunset shot from a McDonald's parking lot.
After breakfast we decided to go hiking and try to fish.
Dad, Zoe and Ryan and gave fishing in the freezing water, with no luck.
The view of hotel--the Westin, right next to the village.
Here's Bigsy posing in the middle of these tangled up tree remains.
We founds a bean bag toss game and played boys vs. girls.
Only Zoe Jacobin could manage a magical shot like this.
The next morning started with a delicious latte down in the main village.
Everyone caught a fish and
there were a couple of nice
rainbows in the bunch. True
to the fisherman's code, we
actually had them for dinner
that night. Pretty tasty.
The bear statue at the base of the mountain.
The Yellowstone fires made this day pretty smokey.
The boys making stupid faces at the girls on the gondola.
Here's the dead section of the hike--apparently an earthquake caused all this.
At the top of the gondola (base of the mountain), there was a bluegrass festival.
Time to hike back--it's really nice out here.
Schat's Bakery in Mammoth is just insane. They literally have everything.
